Regulatory Support Officer
Job Title: Regulatory Support Officer
Position Type: Full-Time
Portarlington Credit Union Limited is a successful and growing credit union serving over 13,000 members. We are seeking a full-time Regulatory Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional support to the Governance Team comprising of the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO), Risk Management Officer (RMO) and Compliance Officer (CO) in the effective operation of the credit union's risk management, compliance and governance frameworks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE (but not limited to):
Anti Money Laundering
Key Responsibilities
- Review and investigate AML alerts and customer activity on our various platforms.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of STRs.
- Conduct CDD, EDD and periodic member reviews.
- Maintain AML records and case management documentation.
- Support compliance monitoring, audits and regulatory requests.
- Identify and escalate potential financial crime risks.
- Contribute to AML process improvements and policy adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in maintaining the risk register and ensuring risks are updated following management reviews.
- Assist in monitoring key risk indicators (KRIs) and preparing risk dashboards.
- Support periodic risk assessments across business functions.
- Track progress against agreed risk mitigation actions.
- Assist with business continuity planning and testing.
- Support the annual review of the Risk Management Policy and related documents.
- Maintain records of operational risk events and near misses.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and analysis for the Board/Risk Committee.
Key Responsibilities
Support for the following:
- Maintenance of the compliance monitoring programme.
- Track completion of compliance reviews and regulatory actions.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with:
- Credit Union Act
- Central Bank Regulations
- Consumer Protection requirements
- Anti-Money Laundering obligations
- Data Protection requirements
- Operational Resilience requirements
- DORA-related compliance activities (where applicable)
- Monitor policy review schedules.
- Maintain the regulatory obligations register.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports for the Board and Board Oversight Committee.
- Coordinate regulatory returns and evidence gathering.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in a similar role within a credit union or other financial institution would be a distinct advantage.
- Must satisfy the Minimum Competency Requirements of the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency Code or be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification.
- Team worker with strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
